The German brand’s electric hatchback debuts with a new name, a more refined cabin, more onboard technology, and targets the European market with a more competitive proposition.
Volkswagen has officially unveiled the ID.3 Neo, a new evolution of its compact electric hatchback, arriving on the market with significant changes across nearly all key aspects of the project.
The model debuts with a new name, a redesigned front end, a more refined interior, more technological features, and a more efficient electric powertrain, strengthening the brand’s push in one of the most strategic segments of electrification in Europe. Pre-orders begin on April 16, 2026, in Germany and other European markets.

The new ID.3 Neo adopts a visual identity more aligned with Volkswagen’s current phase. The front end features a new design with a continuous light strip and illuminated logo, while the exterior finish aims to deliver a cleaner, more modern, and dynamic look. The brand states that the model follows the new “Pure Positive” design language, created to give more personality to the ID family.
Inside, the electric hatchback has also been extensively revised. The cabin features higher-quality materials, a new horizontal layout, more ergonomic controls, and an updated infotainment system focused on more intuitive operation. Highlights include the 10.25-inch digital cockpit and the 12.9-inch central display, integrated into the new Innovision system.

On the mechanical side, Volkswagen highlights that the ID.3 Neo introduces a new electric propulsion system, delivering more torque and lower consumption compared to previous motors. Depending on the configuration, the model can reach up to 630 km of range in the WLTP cycle, placing it among the top performers in its category. The hatchback will be offered with three power options: 125 kW, 140 kW, and 170 kW, along with battery packs of 50 kWh, 58 kWh, and 79 kWh net capacity.
Fast charging has also improved. Versions with 50 kWh and 58 kWh batteries support up to 105 kW DC charging, while the larger 79 kWh battery can handle up to 183 kW, enhancing convenience on longer trips. Another key feature is vehicle-to-load, which allows the car’s battery to power external devices with up to 3.6 kW.

In terms of technology, the ID.3 Neo may include features such as Connected Travel Assist with automatic traffic light recognition, one-pedal driving, a 360-degree camera, an augmented reality head-up display, a Harman Kardon sound system, seats with massage and memory functions, and a new app store integrated into the infotainment system.
With this update, Volkswagen aims to elevate the ID.3’s position in the European compact EV market by focusing on greater range, improved build quality, and a more complete digital experience to compete in an increasingly crowded segment.
